Creek

'Creek 1'
Watercolor, 11 x 15 in.

'Creek 2'
Watercolor, 11 x 15 in.
While passing through Asanur, a forest area, on the way to mysore, I saw this creek. I have painted the scene in both portrait and landscape formats. Would like to know which one you liked more!
I'll be absent from blogosphere for a little more than 2 weeks as I'm leaving on a trip to pune, mumbai, ahmedabad, udaipur and jodhpur tomorrow.
Another good news which I would like to share is that my painting titled 'After Rains' is sold in Sydney, Australia via indianartcollectors.com.

  2. I prefer #1. The balance of the shapes are more interesting to me. In #2 they seem too similar. But both are lovely, really.

  3. Dear Ramesh,
Both are beautiful, especially light and colors are eye catchy. I, too, prefer the first one.
    Kind regards, Sadami

    Gracias.
    saludos.

  5. Congratulations on the sale! I had a look back and it is a beautiful painting, so full of life and color.
I enjoyed both paintings, but I prefer the landscape format. It gives me a sense of the vastness of the creek with a peek into the distance. In no.2 I feel that I am in a spot by the creek under the trees. In both paintings I liked the warm colors in the foreground.

  11. Congratulations on the sale Ramesh...

I definitely like the potrait one better... in the landscape one my gaze is getting stuck in the dark green on right hand top... but in the potrait one, its keeps going round the space...

  13. Both are great, but I am finding that people do like the verticle format...I do not have many of them. Guess we need to paint more. Can't wait to see what you will be painting from your trip. Enjoy!!

  14. Both are Wow Ramesh, but I'm with the portrait format. As PC says, there is more concentrated focus on the stream and I found my eye drawn through to that sky and distance beyond. Fabulous about the Sale! Well done! Have a great break.

  15. I prefer the first one in composition, but I like much more the second one because of tha right part of it, tha shadow and the little whites you have obtained, and I think also it's better solved the water....¡Good works the two!!

    Enrique.
