Tranquil

Watercolor on Paper ( 11" x 15" )

I have been using mostly watercolor cakes for my paintings.Recently I bought a new set of good quality watercolor tubes. The old set had become rock hard as they weren't used for a long time.Do they have to be thrown away or is there still a way to use them?
This painting was done with the new set.I must say I was not very comfortable in using these but I guess with regular usage they will be easier to handle!

  1. Ramesh, I like this painting a lot! It looks so peacefull, quiet, harmonieus... The river makes me think on the place where I live, except that we don't have mountains in the distance. For me it's like a 'déja-vu';-)

  3. Beautiful, Ramesh. I love the way you left so much negative space. It creates a crisp feeling of the open air and river. Great loose work on the trees. Very nice work!

  6. Like this painting a lot. I generally like simplicity in paintings and this is one such simple painting which gives a beutiful feeling. I think a little more darks for the reflection of the lower part of the right side bushes would have made it perfect for me.

  8. Ramesh, cool watercolor, nice greens, and the reflection on water is fantastic, as well as the blue of de far mountains....
About de watercolors in "godets" that have become "rocks" becuase of the tima without use, you can prove with a water spray: wet all godets, in two passes and let it stay for abut 15'. If still you cann't use them in the way you like, try another 15'.....you will loose nothing proving.
But I must tell you that now that you have proved tubes, you will know the great diference between theese tubes and the godets....Tubes are much better to obtain fresh watercolor, you can work much fast, the pigment can be more intense.....
Well, I hope once again my opinion have been usefull for you.

    Big hug.

    Enrique.
