Plein air painting

Yesterday I went to paint en plein air (painting outdoors on location) after a long time. The location which I had selected was some 12 kms from my home, on the outskirts. The place was very quiet and except for 2-3 people who were least interested in what I was doing, I hardly saw any one there!
When I had visited the place last time, there was this old dry tree which I had wanted to paint but when I reached the spot yesterday, I was surprised to find the tree all covered with fresh new leaves…LOL. Nevertheless, I decided to paint it.
Painted 2 scenes there. Here are the images. Hope you like them!

Have a wonderful Sunday :)

  2. Just lovely outside work. I am passionate about palms too, but no longer live where palms grow. I remember from my trips to Goa and Sri Lanka that the palms are tall and just beautiful in the noon day sun.

    1. Thank you very much Maggie! I'm so happy to get a comment from you! Also felt nice that you've visited my country. :)
I totally agree with you...palms are really beautiful! In fact, at one point, I thought of painting just the palm trees because of their lovely shape, but then I changed my mind and painted the whole scene!

  4. Ramesh, just wanted to add that I very much enjoyed India. In the late 80's I travelled much of the country by train with a backpack and sketchbook. Each area is so unique and has it's own culture, smells and COLOURS. Many people have very little, but love life and seem happier than those of us who have more. I enjoy your paintings and your blog.
