Marina Beach, Chennai

Watercolor on Bockingford paper
14 x 21 inches

My earlier painting of the same place was liked by many and so I decided to paint another beach scene. I used masking to preserve the whites for the waves. Also the original reference didn't have any figure in the foreground which looked kind of empty. So I chose this woman from another of my references, placed her where I wanted to, after some adjustments in the drawing stage. Hope you like it!
Have a wonderful weekend :)

  2. Hi, you capture the essence of every scene! I could feel the sea breeze and movement in the painting, especially in splashing waves, the lady's saree....Thanks!

  3. This is very nice. It shows a working beach which is in contrast to our beaches that are used primarily for leisure. The figure is a strong element and a good addition.

  10. Nice post. World's second largest urban beach and the country's largest, Marina Beach is a popular hangout of humans and sea-animals alike in Chennai. If you are planning a visit to Chennai, then check out these Chennai hotels available in various price ranges.
