'Police chowki, Udaipur'
Watercolor on paper
11 x 15 in.
This is the 'Police chowki' (Police station) in Udaipur. The bright light on the upper right portion of the building and the shadows caught my attention. Some unwanted elements were eliminated while composing, thereby keeping the composition simple and highlighting just the play of light and shadow.

ReplyDeleteYou are a master at separating the light from the darkness! Beach in Evening and "Sunset Riders" too- both excellent !! It's been a while since I've been over to check up on your success. Enjoyed my visit.

ReplyDeleteThanks for your visit and for your nice comment!
Very beautiful indeed! This painting reminds me of the work that Mortimer Menpes did in India during the early 1900s.
