Old Door

Watercolor on handmade paper
10 x 14 inches
(Photo reference courtesy of Ms.Kavita Dixit. Thank you Kavita)

A simpler subject this time...The wonderful texture of the wooden door and the blue wall were just irresistable to paint! Painted this on a rough handmade paper which is very apt for such subjects :)

  3. It is a lovely painting. I like the way you have given the wall a chalky character, and a weathered look to the door.

  5. This is very beautiful! Love the weathered look of the door and the texture you have created. I am new to watercolors. Could you tell me the brand of colors and paper you use. I am experiencing issues with both. Thanks.

    1. Thank you Mamta! I use 300 gsm imported watercolor sheets. Some of the brand names are bockingford, Fabriano, Canson etc. They are good and prices are also reasonable. I use camel paints. Regards

    2. Dear Ramesh. Thanks for letting me make haiga out of this stunning painting. I decided to leave it without any touch. The haiku which I
      embeded on it is:
      the moment
      between opening and
      closing a door

Please, visit my blog to watch it and write your comment.

      Regards.

  9. I do like the colors and composition here. True, simpler than your other paintings. My new favorite is the last beach post. Congratulations on having a good year with your art!
