Happiness

Watercolor on paper
11 x 15 in.

This is a portrait of my sister's father-in-law. As usual I was attracted by the light falling on the face and the resultant depth.I must thank my nephew for taking such a nice photograph!
I have left the white of the paper to show through for the light, carefully painting around it.

  9. A really difficult subject,Ramesh, but you captured the face with the minimum of effort (or it seems like that because of your experience!)

  13. Very nice portrait, full of animation and life! The dark blue receding into the mauve in the background is perfect. Also, I like how you have incorported the background colors on the face which brings it all together.
