After sunset

Oil on Canvas Board (12" x 16")
This is my very latest painting.I was to paint the setting sun with its reflection in the water. But I liked it this way without the sun.So I stopped at that point. It looked like the sun has set behind the trees and there is still a little light left in the horizon.I couldn't think of any other title than 'after sunset'.Any suggestions?

  1. Good choice on leaving out the sun - it may have become too much of a focal point and stolen attention from the wonderful reflections in the water. Congratulations on the gallery showing.

  2. Love the 'Liquid Gold' of the sea Ramesh. You are so talented in both watercolour and oil. Fabulous painting.

  3. Its really good, ramesh...I dont know how you manage to paint the water so beautifully in natural waves! The subdued lighting of the scene makes it different from usual sunsets.great.
